Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F (160°C fan-forced). Line a 20cm/8″ square baking tin with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy lifting.
- Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter and chocolate chips. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between, until smooth.
- Mix Batter: Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then fold gently until just combined. Add optional chocolate chunks or nuts if desired.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared tin, smoothing the top. Bake for:

- Fudgy texture: 28 minutes
- Cakey texture: 32 minutes
- Cool: Let brownies cool in the tin for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Cool completely before cutting for clean slices.
